What is EN-50131 and what are the Grades?
EN-50131 standard is a European guideline aimed to certify security systems and involves both the way equipment should be built, as well as, their connection and programming. Based on these factors a security system is graded with one of the below grades about the security level they offer.
Grade 1: Low security level
In this grade a security system is required to protect your space from burglars who are inexperienced in security systems. Moreover, they use simple and basic tools to break in.
Grade 2: Medium security level
In this grade the system is required to protect your space from burglars with basic knowledge of security systems. Moreover, they use basic tools, as well as, basic portable measuring organs.
Grade 3: Medium to high security level
In this grade the system is required to your space by burglars experienced in security systems. Moreover, they use a variety of tools, as well as, mobile electronic equipment ( eg. laptop)
Grade 4: High security level
In this grade security is of utmost importance and the burglars are assumed to have the knowledge and means to create a complete break-in plan. They carry specific and complete equipment and can even replace parts of the security system.
